Mont St Michel

Comment - a great day out, walk up the narrow winding streets to the most amazing cloisters right at the top.  Set out early to avoid the crowds.  Check with tourist information with regards to walking across the bay to the mount - subject to the times of the tides.

"A thousand fascinating years , a story of faith, courage and extraordinary human talents and skills have made the "Marvel of the West", a masterpiece and a world heritage site belonging to all mankind. By turns a monastery, a citadel, a prison, the Mont Saint Michel symbolises the eternal struggle of Good against Evil."

Channel Islands

Comments: Great day out - 60 minute (or so) ferry and car hire included when you arrive - oh, and the channel islands decided not to sign up to all the new European rules and regs so you can still buy duty free!

Bayeux Tappestry

Considered a unique world masterpiece, the Bayeux Tapestry is actually an embroidery made from wool on linen canvas during the 11th century. It is 70m long and 50cm high, it recounts, simply but with a wealth of detail, how and why William the Conqueror conquered England on 14 October 1066. Accompany your visit to the exhibition and Tapestry with a free headphone set (available in 11 languages).

AJ Hackett Bungy
www.ajhackett.fr

Viaduc de la Souleuvre is a place of great historic significance. It holds strong metaphoric bonds to the jump that started it all - through its builder, the great Gustave Eiffel. The old railway bridge has long ago collapsed but the impressive 61-metre stone columns are still standing and have been interconnected by an exhilarating suspension foot-bridge, to give access to the jump deck. Apart from Bungee Jumping is it now home to the Scable, a 400-metre-long death slide or Flying Fox on which you can cross the valley at more than 100 km per hour and a Tree Top Adventure Park.

The site is open daily from mid-June to mid-September and weekends from March to November. There's a nice looking restaurant on site & picnic area if you prefer to be self sufficient.
