The peace and quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets are only disturbed by the distant lowing of a cow or bird in the trees...

 

La Lorrie has a large kitchen and dining room, lounge, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large deck and heated swimming pool. It has gas central heating should this be needed with thermostatic radiator valves to ensure comfort at all times.  Most windows also benefit from electric shutters making it really easy to keep the rooms cool on a hot summers day or reversely keeping the heat in during the cooler months.

 

Decoration and facilities are of a high standard and as you would expect to find at home.  All ground floor rooms still have the original flagstone floors.  On the first floor the rooms mainly have wooden floors whilst the second floor rooms are carpeted.

 

The large garden (around one acre) is fully enclosed and safe for children, a large barn houses  full sized table tennis perfect to escape the mid day sun. Garden games are also available for all to use.

 

Mains water is provided and whilst there is a well, for safety this remains locked.

 

The "outside dining room" deck and pool area are south facing and stay comfortable and warm into the evening as the south facing side wall of the house radiates heat into the evening. Indoors is comfortable at all times, probably as a result of the two foot thick walls.

A large table and chairs provides the centre of the main living area of the house in keeping with french tradition. A range cooker (gas hob and electric oven) also doubles as the central heating boiler.  The original flagstone floor is still in place.

 

A modern, full size dishwasher, electric toaster, microwave oven, kettle and large fridge freezer are provided. All crockery, glasses, pans and cutlery are new and clean.

 

The split "stable" back door leads to the deck and pool, here you will find the large decked area where the "Weber" gas barbeque and decking furniture can be used - 'the outside dining room'. Outisde lights and pool light mean that the outside dining room doesn't close when the sun sets.

This cosy room has french doors opening to the front of the house and a window looking out over the pool area.  In addition to a rug and sofas, a colour television is supplied with UK English Sky satelite with a "freeview" card. Plus a VHS video recorder and selection of english childrens films, along with a DVD player and stereo with ipod / mp3 adapter cable.

Bedroom One has double aspect windows so it is a beautifully light room with wooden floors.  There is a feature fireplace and a five foot bed. 

 

Bedroom Two overlooks the front of the house and has a cast iron effect double bed. 

 

A cot and two 'z' beds are available should you need them.

 

Bedroom Three benefits from two single beds with ample room for one of the 'z' beds should you wish.  There is a small window overlooking the back of the house with amazing views over the adjoining countryside.

 

Bedroom Four again has two single beds with a window overlooking the back of the house,  This room is still generously proportioned.

Inside the house, the first floor main bathroom consists of a standard size bath, toilet and single sink. The bathroom has a painted wooden floor. Across the corridor is the shower room with a mains power shower and an additional sink. Again with a wooden floor.

 

Adjacent to the outside dining room there is a further shower room with toilet, single basin, and new washing machine, which leads through to a curtained shower cubicle. This is ideal for soggy swimmers!

The professionally installed pool is 8.5m x 5.5m and has a constant depth of 1.2m, ideal for young and old alike who want to swim and play games. The pool is heated using the latest "heat pump" method - this works like a fridge in reverse, taking warmth from the air and using it to warm the water. The pool is maintained at a constant 28 degrees.

 

In keeping with French legislation, the pool is completely enclosed by a security fence, locked with a toddler and small child proof magnetic latch. The fence may also be locked with a key.

 

Pool filtration is provided and a modern ultra-violet device significantly reduces the amount of chemical required, all pool maintenance is provided.

 

NOTE 1! The best way to cool the pool is to leave the cover off when you are not using it - most heat loss is due to evaporation.

 

NOTE 2! We reccommend that nobody (even adults!) use the pool without some sort of supervision, of course children should be watched at all times without exception.

Aside from the pool and deck areas, the house is surrounded on all sides by garden with long range views from the rear across fields. There is a swing and play frame plus plenty of room for games and running around.
